For those who plan to buy Windows Vista OS, be aware that you can have serious driver issues and wont be able to use your PC for games and other graphical programs. Altough Microsoft's vista adviser told me my PC was OK. This is when you have the following combination: AMD motherboard with Nforce3 chipset and a AGPx8 ATI graphics card The problem is that the chipset is made by Nvidia and they don't support Nforce 2 or 3 anymore, so no vistadriver updates for this. Me unhappy

Vista is simply to f**king expensive. I mean, about 250 € for the cheapest version, a version so bad that it is virtually not possible to use. I will keep my XP for some time, and when I really need to have a new operating system I will run Linux. I have installed and tried Debian for a while now (one of the harder Linux versions to learn), but it is as easy as Windows to use. I haven't gotten around to install a windows emulator yet, but the people that have it says that more or less every windows program works with them. Conclusion: Either buy Vista, about 250 €. Or download a Linux distribution, spend a couple of hours to learn it. Free. Easy choise

Use partition magic, set your computer for multiple boot. That way you can run XP for MOHAA, Vista......for whatever its good for (native directx10 support seems to be it),Linux,Solaris10 and whatever else you prefer. If nothing else it gives you a chance to really see what your computer can do. Be aware though that if you run a couple of gig memory, it will actually slow down a '98 system as windows can't address that much memory correctly and actually uses more resources to do less work.Hmm, no change there then.
